A Chef’s Life is a PBS show featuring Chef Vivian Howard who, along with her husband Ben Knight, owns a fine dining restaurant in her small hometown in Eastern North Carolina. Each episode follows Vivian out of the kitchen and into cornfields, strawberry patches and hog farms as she hunts down the ingredients that inspire her seasonal, Southern menus.
A recent episode of A Chef’s Life brought Chef Vivian to Portland, Oregon for the city’s annual Feast festival. Let Um Eat was recruited to help Vivian find a local source for cabbage that she could use for her dish at the Smoked event.
